Albion Police Department Joins Think B4U Wink
Chief Brent Lipker announced the Albion Police Department has joined Think Before You Wink, a joint effort of Nebraska Law Enforcement Agencies to curb underage drinking.
The program seeks to alert parents and other responsible adults to the dangers of allowing persons under 21 to consume alcohol.
“Behind every teen drinker, there is an adult who is responsible,” says Chief Brent Lipker. “Someone gave that child alcohol, or allowed him to have access to it. Adults in Albion need to be aware that this is not only illegal, it’s endangering our youth.”
Think Before You Wink was named to remind adults that underage drinking is not something to joke about, nor is it something that everyone does. In short, adults should not wink and turn away from underage drinking, thinking it’s something to be expected.
In all, 62 Law Enforcement agencies across Nebraska, as well as the Nebraska State Patrol currently participate in Think B4U Wink. The program is funded by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
Programs are available to any adult group and are presented free of charge. Call the Albion Police Department for more information or visit the web site, www.ThinkB4UWink.com.
